Drop is an innovative, fully 3D virtual reality interface for browsing the internet and interacting with popular websites like YouTube in a whole new way.
What is Drop?
Have you ever watched a sci-fi movie where, instead of consoles or computers, people interact with moveable screens or holographic displays? Want to try that out today? Then you need Drop. Drop presents the user with just such an interface, allowing them to ditch looking at the internet on their phone and instead behold websites as a giant floating display. Instead of flicking through tabs, you reach out, grab a virtual window and drag it towards you, manipulating it in 3D. You can then interact with its normal function (like a video player’s buttons) exactly as you would IRL, but using VR controllers.
Do I need this app?
As it is early access, you’re not seeing the finished product yet. Right now it functions as a web searcher and YouTube player. However, as part of its development a myriad of uses could emerge. Instead of leaving VR to check social media, you could simply switch into Drop, do what you need to do and return to your game. Perhaps this is the future of the technology,
